Progress on the Layout:

At National City

Here is a shot of the newly installed crossover.  Allowing traffic to go from the west yard to the east yard and out onto the main line.  This could not be accomplished with out backing down the ladder to tracks allowing traffic to the main.
This cross-over was built by Mark Gilbreath the Roadmaster.  Closer picture showing the detail and the work going into this switch.
A different angle.   ie birds eye view.

Here is Hans and Gilbert getting a good plan of action before the first cut is made!
This is Hans and Brian making sure the board is just right before cutting the piece to fit for the new turn table.
Here is the final cut for the new turntable.
Here is the new turntable for National City,  the pit is done.  And the bridge is 50% till after the track is laid to the pit.  Don't want to break off the detail parts on the bridge.
This turntable is 135 feet, manufactured by Custom Model Railroads.  Its a very good kit.  The instructions are easy to understand.   We substitute code 40 rail for what came with it.  So the bridge had to be shimmed up to match.
It only took us five years to get to this point. It was well worth the wait,  I think.
Well,  we got the tracks leading to the Roundhouse.
The pit has been installed.
Really starting to look good,  can't believe its taken 8 years and two turntable to get this far.  Ah,  such is the life in a club!
